I just pretty much suck. I started out well on the whole diet-y thing, and after I got sick I crashed and burned. So now, I need to reset. But I haven't really been able to reset either. I think I ate better before I started down this path. Something about focusing on dieting just brings into sharp relief what I "can't" and "shouldn't". I imagined if I made it into some kind of game I could make it entertaining for awhile, but that hasn't worked. I have no idea what will get through to me! I'm like a teenager! So, I think I am going to focus on one thing at a time. I've been more active, and enjoying that, and really I don't *normally* eat so bad. So, scratch the fancy plan, back to focusing on increasing physical activity. Sorry, no entertainment here. I will try to blog though ... I got a new camera so I can regale you with pictures of my lovely daughter (because who doesn't love mommyblogging?) and there is a Mike Doughty concert in April I can bore you with too ;)
End ramblission.

I've had a bit of trouble articulating this thing, so I am playing around with a mindmap. With any luck, this will help me tell you what's in my sick brain ;) Check it out:
EDIT: I think I am going to just start posting about each node. It may be a bit more tiresome for any readers out there (Hi Steph!) but then at least I can jump in without having every single thing organized in my brain. And I do want to write things here. I really do! Wednesday, January 30

I just wanted to post to say: I haven't flaked yet. It's just that my current weight loss plan for the past two weeks has been:
1.) Catch a severe flu and upper respiratory infection such that you do not even want to move. 2.) After all symptoms are gone, still have no appetite or energy, and 3.) Develop some bizarre situation where your jaw doesn't align, making eating uncomfortable. It seems to be working! But do not try this at home ;) Hopefully I will be back to "normal" in a week or so. It really is! 2008, I mean. And I said I would blog.
I have a bit of a plan for this blog at least for the first half of the year. My baby sister (isn't it fun calling an adult "baby"?) is getting married in August and I've decided to make a last ditch effort to lose weight in preparation for the big event. So I am going to post some stuff around that. I have a plan that works for my weird brain, and may amuse you in the process. So, watch this space. But not too closely, I am still a slacker. Oh, and check out this fantastic picture Steph took of Boo. (It's just one of many - thanks Steph!) Wow, I can't stop looking at it! It's my desktop image on my computer. Yes, I am officially a dork (um, still). Friday, March 9

My brain is bubbling on getting serious about posting here. (I was going to say "again" but I don't think that would be appropriate.) At the rate the chaos is growing here in real life, that may be a 2008 project, but we'll see. Damned entropy.
So, see you in 2008! Let's hope for sooner. Maybe I'll kick off with another holiday shopping thingy in November. And pictures of our Christmas decorations. Yes! We are decorating for Christmas in 2007! Boo's Dad likes to say that our household is run like a banana republic. Progress occurs sporadically if at all ... so, like I said - 2008. :) Oh, and ....... HI ANGIE! Stephanie has actually given up on complaining about my blog slackitude, but Angie has persevered. 2007 has been declared the year of the phone call. Maybe 2008 will be the year of the blog. Thursday, September 28

It's 6 pm, and I have all my homework done.
It was bound to happen eventually. (Mom says, "yeah right, I'll check with you in a few months.") P.S. Boo started kindergarten today. P.P.S. I can't find the cable for my camera, or I would show you what a day 1 kindergartener looks like. Kindof like this, but with added drama. ![]() about.everything. |
